Every April, during the London Marathon, RunDemCrew transform a stretch of road at mile 21 of the course into a cheering zone where people gather to cheer on the runners. There are confetti canons, giant posters of the faces of the crew that are running in the event and hundreds of posters created by the crew. ’Every year we try and turn Mile 21 into an unofficial carnival and it’s a chance for Run Dem Crew and the community to come together to decorate a grey stretch of road and bring it to life.” Charlie Dark, founder of Run Dem Crew This year I painted the road with some of the classic RDC graphics along with a new chevron pattern that I created. With the help of friends, we cut out large stencils and used spray chalk to decorate the road in the early hours before the race began.
