British Library Sound Archive

Image series to promote the huge sound archive at the British Library. I created 3 patterns based on 3 different soundscapes in the archive. I love the way that soundscapes sonically describe a specific place. Each pattern’s colour palette relates to the place of each recording whilst the shapes forming the pattern are inspired by the pitch, speed, repetition and holistic feel of the sound. I chose 3 soundscapes from the archive with the aim of presenting a range of environments- environmental, social and industrial. These are: - River in deciduous wood soundscape - Moretonhampstead carnival soundscape - Lotus shoes factory ltd soundscape

You can listen to the soundscapes at http://sounds.bl.uk/environment/soundscapes
